(ANSAmed) - DOHA, MARCH 7 - Qatar is now the sole owner of Paris Saint-Germain, after the American investment fund Colony Capital sold its remaining 30% stake in the French club to the Emirate, the Qatari press has reported today.

Qatar Sports Investments originally purchased 70% of Paris Saint-Germain less than a year ago and has now become the sole owner. Wansquare says that the club's shares are now worth a total of 132 million dollars.

Paris Saint-Germain are certain to take part in European competition next year and the club's new owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has said that he is ready to invest 100 million euros to strengthen the team. "These figures are normal for a team of this calibre," he said. "We prefer to invest a lot straightaway, spending a lot in the next five or six years and then reducing investments". (ANSAmed).
