(ANSAmed) - ROME, JULY 31 - Unemployment in Italy hit an
eight-year high in June, national statistics agency Istat said
Tuesday.
The rate of unemployment hit 10.8%, up 0.3 points since May
and 2.7 points on the year, the study said.
It is the highest rate of joblessness since January 2004,
when such data was first collected on a monthly basis.
On a quarterly basis, it is the highest rate since the
third quarter of 1999.(ANSAmed).
