Cinema: Sole Luna Festival kicks off in Palermo tomorrow

(ANSAmed) - PALERMO, JULY 5 - The seventh edition of the Sole Luna festival scheduled in Palermo until July 13 will start tomorrow with a concert and poetry reading show, 'Qui la luce è differente. Liriche, musiche e colori lontani' (The light is different here. Faraway words, music and light) by Francesco Impellizzeri.

After the inauguration at 8 pm the recital will begin with Enzo Pitta and Arabist Francesca Maria Corrao who will read some of the verses in Arabic.

The show will be followed by the film screenings.

At 9 pm in the Abatelli court are scheduled the screenings of Gotthard Schuh by Swiss filmmaker Villi Hermann and Aask el Seir/Against the current by Lebanon's Michele Tyan.

In the Steri court, two documentaries not in official competition will be shown within the 'Baghdad Showcase' film event in cooperation with the Iraq Short Film Festival.

Three documentaries competing for an award will subsequently be screened: 'What about Columbus' by Argentina's Lander Camarero, 'L'exil azur' by Adeli Champailler' and 'Palestine in the South' by Chile's Ana Maria Hurtado.

The competition for the Enel Green Power award will follow.(ANSAmed).
