The project was the subject of talks attended by Mario Virano, the president of the Turin-Lyon Observatory, as well as by the Piedmont regional council, the Province of Turin, Unioncamere for the Piedmont region, the Turin branch of the CCIAA, the Industrial Union of Turin and the Piedmont branch of Confindustria.
"The project begins with the realisation that, over the last few years, there has been no concrete structured initiative identifying priorities, costs and timeframes for investment in support of the economy and employment in the area," unions say. The idea is therefore to implement a "period of common work" which will over the course of 2012 will lead to the draft of a plan backing the demands of local communities, and one that can be taken as a model for bodies asked to make decisions, coordinating operations with the requirements of regional laws on the promotion of works. "Particular attention will be paid to communication, which has always been a weakness as far as the launch of the Turin-Lyon line is concerned," unions add. (ANSAmed)
