(ANSAmed) - Doha, August 7 - Syria's former prime minister
Riad Hijab is currently in Jordan after announcing his defection
from the regime of Bashar al Assad on Monday, the pan-Arab TV
channel al Jazira, financed by the Emir of Qatar, cited his
spokesman Muhammad Otri as saying on Tuesday.
The same source said Hijab would shortly be transferring to Qatar, perhaps even later in the day or Wednesday. On Monday the Jordanian authorities officially denied that Hijab had entered Jordanian territory. (ANSAmed).
