(ANSAmed) - ROME, 28 JUNE - Giulio Anselmi, the ANSA Chairman
took over the presidency of Aman, the Alliance of Mediterranean
Press Agencies; Anselmi took over from the General Director of
the Moroccan MAP agency, Khalil Hachimi Idrissi during the 21st
general assembly of the organisation, which was hosted by ANSA
in Rome. Next assembly is due to take place in Ramallah, in the
Palestinian Territories, in 2013.
"We talked about collaboration between our agencies and the need to tackle the challenges for the news world in a moment when the Mediterranean area is affected by the consequences of the Euro crisis and of the Arab Spring," Anselmi pointed out, "the situation has not settled in Libya, Egypt and especially Syria.
Therefore, we committed to developing a cooperation which aims to become an actual alliance".
ANSA took over the presidency and suggested to organise a training seminar for the area's multimedia journalists in March 2013 in Rome; other proposals included training on economic and investigation journalism suggested by APS, on Content management system (CMS, for websites) and on audio-visual services.(ANSAmed).
