Egypt: Two activists and one soldier die in clashes

Curfew imposed in area: around 130 injured. Arrests

(ANSAmed) - CAIRO, MAY 4 - Two demonstrators and a soldier died in violent clashes in Cairo today. The news of the activists' deaths has been issued by medical sources on the scene: the death of the soldier has been announced by a local television station. Meanwhile the Supreme Command of the Armed Forces has imposed curfew in the area around Abbasseya Square, where clashes are still under way. Sources inside the Health Ministry have made it known that the number of persons injured in clashes at Abbasseya Square has risen to 128, 82 of whom have been admitted to hospital.

According to reports on the social networks, military police have arrested two journalists working for the independent daily El Badil, a cameraman for Local TV January 25 and for one of the web services of independent daily Al Masry al Youm. (ANSAmed).
