Egypt: 2 American tourists and guide released

03 February, 17:35

(ANSAmed) - CAIRO, FEBRUARY 3 - The two American tourists who were kidnapped this morning in the southern Sinai by Bedouins have been released, together with their Egyptian guide, Egyptian security sources say. The three were released after negotiations between security forces and the Karakesha Bedouin tribe, to which the reportedly kidnappers belong. No details have been released about the demand made by the kidnappers to release the people who were arrested for robbery on January 28 in Sharm el Sheikh.

The two women, according to the security sources, are now on their way to the U.S. embassy in Cairo, which had sent representatives to mediate. (ANSAmed).
