Cyprus: trade deficit decreases in January-May 2012

(ANSAmed) - NICOSIA, AUGUST 10 - Cyprus' trade deficit was 1.792,4 million euros in January-May 2012, compared to 2.048,8 million euros in the corresponding period of 2011, the Statistical Service said here Thursday, in its monthly report for May 2012. According to the report, as CNA writes, total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other member states) in January-May 2012 amounted to 2.389,8 million euros as compared to 2.643,2 million euros in January-May 2011. Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other member states) in January-May 2012 were 597,4 million euros compared to 594,3 million euros in January-May 2011. During May 2012 total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other member states) valued at 483,3 million euros. Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States), including stores and provisions, in May 2012 amounted to 134,6 million euros. (ANSAmed).
